Inversions, Core, and Pelvic Floor
A special workshop event in Basel, Switzerland
Thursday, April 18th : 18:15-20:15
Inversions : A playful approach to inversions involves taking the time to sense the weight shift that happens when you go from being upright to upside down. The ability to feel center and to move away from center makes shapes such as shoulderstand, headstand, and handstand more accessible. In this class, you will have the opportunity to explore different ways of weight shifting into these postures so that you can feel (and find) where your center of center is. With an emphasis on what grounds you and an exploratory approach to traditional postures, you will leave feeling more connected with the ground, your center, and yourself.
Friday, April 19th : 10.00-11.30
Pelvic floor and more : The ability to feel and connect to your core and pelvic floor makes traditional shapes feel more stable, strong, and balanced. There are a number of ways to connect to the pelvic floor, both through mindfulness and using anatomical connections all of the way down to the feet. Drawing from exercise science, body mapping, and anatomy, this class will use thoughtful movement and different focal points to take you on a journey to learn more about how you can create more awareness and ease of movement through the pelvic floor and core.
Handstands and floor flow
In this two hour workshop, you will explore the connection between the hands and the floor, weight shift into handstands, and pathways on the floor.
Handstand basics
Handstand basics, Saturday, January 20 from 12-1:30 at Altius Pole Studio. Learn the fundamentals you need to be able to successfully stand on your hands. $45. PDF included.
